Season Duration

Our club season officially begins with practices early January and finishing with Nationals in May. Our awards banquet is held shortly after Nationals late May or early June.

ORIENTATION DAY

Orientation is normally held mid-December and attendance is mandatory for all players and a parent.
Meet your coaches, receive further club/team information, complete some forms, uniform/merchandise sizing and ordering.

2027 SEASON TRYOUT INFO

We will not be fielding any male teams for the 2027 season.

Tryout fee is $35.00 for any one age-class session.

You are only required to register for one session per age-class.
Athletes trying out for 16U and older should have previous club playing experience.

Regular tryout sessions for all age-classes are scheduled between late November to mid December depending on age-class.

17UG & 18UG EARLY SIGNING INFO

Phoenix 17U/18U early-signing 'ID' sessions were held August 25 & 26. Please see the ALL AGES DECEMBER TRYOUT INFO section below.

Aug 4: All clubs approved for early-signing elegibility will be posted on VM website.
Aug 24 - 30 :   Clubs may offer open gyms for 17U/18U teams for identification purposes.
Aug 31 - Sept 3:   Open signing window for all eligible athletes.
For offers made before or starting at 12pm noon on Aug 31st, athletes have 30 hours to decide. Final offers can be made Sept 3rd at 12pm noon and allow until Sept 4th at 6pm to decide.

Those not accepting an early-signing offer can attend our regular tryouts for their age-class in December.

18UG TRYOUT REGISTRATION OPENS EARLY SEPTEMBER

Training Schedule

Team training includes practices and strength/conditioning sessions. S&C (strength and conditioning) sessions are at least once a week in-house or at Sport MB Performance. We are trying to schedule/hold S&C at same location as practices when possible to avoid additional travel for parents as much as possible.

Practices are up to 4 days/week pre-tournaments and 3 days/week after start of tournaments. Practices may be held at Sport for Life Centre (145 Pacific Ave), Westend Athletics (850 Erin St), or a public school/community centre. Positional practices may take place instead of or outside of regular practice dates/locations.

While we encourage all players to participate in other sports, 13U-15U players are expected to prioritize their volleyball training schedule after spring break and 16U-18U players are expected to prioritize their volleyball training schedule all season.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

Teams participate in a minimum of 7 tournaments. These may include a Phoenix hosted tournament and Volleyball MB Provincials and Volleyball Canada Nationals. 13U Girls do not attend Nationals.
Individual teams may choose to attend additional or alternate local/travel tournaments beyond those scheduled below such as an alternate Nationals location.
